1.1 Hereinafter, the website heylim.com is referred to as “the Website”, and the mobile application for iOS and Android, is collectively referred as “the Mobile Application”. Interacting with the Website and Mobile Application implies using of the necessary respective server and network infrastructure.

1.2 HEYLIM Coffee has adopted this Privacy Policy to inform you of its policies regarding information collected from the HEYLIM Coffee website and mobile application. This Privacy Policy is subject to the Terms of Use incorporated herein. Your use of this website and mobile application constitutes your agreement to HEYLIM Coffee’s Terms of Use and your consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

This is a privacy policy specific to the website and mobile application only and does not apply to the handling of your personal data collected by HEYLIM TRADING L.L.C or its affiliates/owners/operators by means other than this website and mobile application.

2.3.1.1 Registration forms - If you are given the opportunity to register as a registered user of the HEYLIM Coffee website, subscribe to receive information through the HEYLIM Coffee website, or subscribe from another website, you must apply by filling out the registration form on the website. This form requires your mobile phone number during registration on the website and mobile application; you may optionally provide your name and email address. We do not collect a postal code or street address.

2.3.1.2 Support and other voluntary communications - You may choose to communicate with us through our in-app support chat or by email at hey@heylim.com. We collect the information contained in these communications, and this information may be personally identifiable. WhatsApp and SMS are used only to deliver your one-time login codes (OTP); they are not customer support channels.

3. Non-Personal Information

3.1.1 When you visit the HEYLIM Coffee website, as is the case when you visit most other websites, some technical information about your visit is automatically recorded, which may include information about the type of browser you use, the name of the server and IP address through which you access the Internet, the date and time you access the site, the pages you access while on the HEYLIM Coffee website, and the Internet address of the website, if any, from which you linked directly to the HEYLIM Coffee website. Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), device and network identifiers such as an IP address may constitute personal data, particularly where they can be linked to your account; we treat such information accordingly.

11.1 Geolocation Data: The HEYLIM Coffee app provides an option to access your device’s geolocation to provide you with features like finding nearby coffee pillars and the “find me” feature. This permission is optional, but necessary for location-based services to function properly. You can enable or disable location services for the app through your device settings at any time.

11.2 Camera Access: The app may request access to your device’s camera for scanning QR codes to identify coffee pillars. This permission is optional, as you can alternatively enter the pillar number manually. Camera data is used only for the purpose of scanning QR codes and is not stored or transmitted elsewhere.

11.3 NFC Access: When using NFC features to tap and identify coffee pillars, the app requires NFC permission. This data is used solely to identify the coffee pillar you wish to order from.

11.4 Payment Processing: HEYLIM Coffee uses Stripe, Inc. as its third-party payment processor to handle all payment transactions. HEYLIM Coffee does not store your complete credit card information on our servers; card data is securely processed and tokenized according to PCI-DSS standards by Stripe. As Stripe is a cross-border payment processor, your payment data may be processed outside the United Arab Emirates; such transfers are carried out under appropriate contractual safeguards and as necessary to perform your purchase, consistent with the cross-border transfer provisions of the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021).

11.4.1 Saved Payment Methods: The mobile application provides an option to save your payment card information for streamlined future transactions. When you select “Save Card” or similar feature, you provide explicit consent for HEYLIM Coffee to store payment tokens and the last four digits of your card through our payment provider Stripe, Inc. No complete card details, CVV, or PIN are stored on our systems; instead, we retain only secure tokens from Stripe, Inc. that enable us to process future payments on your behalf. You may manage or delete your saved payment methods at any time through your mobile application account settings or by contacting our support. By using the save card feature, you agree that we may charge your saved payment method for future orders you initiate until you delete the payment method or withdraw your consent.

11.5 Customer Support: When you interact with our in-app support feature, your contact information, order history, and conversation with our support team are processed by HEYLIM using self-hosted support software operated on HEYLIM’s own infrastructure. This support data is handled by HEYLIM solely for providing customer support and resolving your inquiries, and is not shared with a third-party customer support provider. 11.6 Account Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting our in-app support. Upon verification of your identity, we will proceed with the deletion process in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as financial record-keeping requirements.

11.7 Your Rights Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law: HEYLIM TRADING L.L.C processes your personal data in accordance with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021). Subject to the conditions and exceptions set out in that law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request its correction, to request its deletion, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw any consent you have previously given. To exercise any of these rights, you may contact us through our in-app support or by email at hey@heylim.com. Where you withdraw consent that is necessary to operate your account, you may no longer be able to place orders, as set out above.

11.8 Data Retention: We retain your personal data only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, after which it is deleted or anonymized. Some information may be retained for longer where required to comply with legal, tax, or financial record-keeping obligations, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

11.9 Hosting and International Transfers: HEYLIM operates its systems on its own infrastructure, hosted with a reputable data-center provider under a data-processing agreement that includes appropriate safeguards. This infrastructure may be located outside the UAE (including in the European Union). Where personal data is stored or processed outside the UAE — including by our payment provider, Stripe, Inc. — HEYLIM takes reasonable steps to ensure it is protected by appropriate safeguards consistent with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law.
